Daytona Arca exercise planned; Sawalich on Pole, Moffitt fastest in the Friday training meeting – Speedway Digest

The training started on Friday at the Daytona International Speedway after Rain canceled the original training session for Thursday afternoon. The cancellation of the exercise on Thursday forced the Arca Menard’s series to define the field via regular book and to replace qualifying with a 45-minute training session.

With the line -up by 2024 ownership points, William Sawalich secured the pole for the start of the season, followed by Lawless Alan, Lavar Scott, Isabella Robusto and Brenden Queen. The drivers Steve Lewis Jr., Ryan Huff, Chuck Buchanan, Chase Pinsonnault and Robert Martin did not do the race.

Thad Moffitt led the planned training session on Friday with a 49.772S / 180.824 miles per hour. Daytona is entering Moffitt on Saturday with three starts and the best fifth on the 2.5-mile superpeedway.

Isabella Robusto was the fastest at the session. Robusto, born in November 2004, has her first super -speedway controlled the No. 55 Venturini Motorsports Toyota. Her best end of four starts came in Springfield last year, where she took second place.

Lawless Alan, Jake Finch and Jason Kitzmiller rounded off the top 5 in practice.

Aj Moyer, Brenden Queen, Andy Jankowiak, Kitzmiller, Helio Castroneves, William Sawalich, Katherine Legge, Eric Caudell, Lavar Scott and Dale Quarterley were the top 5 in the best five round average values.

The season start of the Arca Menards Series will be broadcast live on Saturday on the noon et on the Fox and MRN radio.
