DCU Lanterns writer Tom King can’t say much about the Green Lanterns in the lead role, but what he said drives me nuts

There are only a few days left until then Creature Commands Premieres for those signed up with a Max subscription, followed by Peacemaker Season 2 will appear next August on the 2025 TV schedule, which will be the next upcoming DC TV show Lanternsthe Green Lantern-focused series of the DC Universe. The project has made major strides in recent months, including the casting of Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and the signing of Aaron Pierre as John Stewart. While author Tom King can’t say much about these versions of the characters, what he had to say about them Lanterns I was more excited about the show.

King, who has an extensive catalog of DC Comics comic writers and once worked on the scanned New Gods Film with filmmaker Ava DuVernay, writes Lanterns with Guardian‘s Damon Lindelof and Ozarkis Chris Mundy, the latter serves as showrunner. Here’s what King had to say when ComicBookMovie addressed the recent casting of Chandler and Pierre:

I mean, I’d say I’m overjoyed, but that’s not far enough for a lantern. I guess I’m over Oa? That’s pretty far. You should see these two together. They have amazing chemistry and I couldn’t be more excited. I’m not allowed to say anything except to say that it’s great! We have the perfect cast. When you look at Kyle, you see someone who used to fly jet planes portraying Hal. When you look at Aaron, his heart, soul and strength are like John Stewart. He’s so perfect. It’s going to be great.
