Detectives use thermal imaging camera and drone to locate a man wanted on multiple warrants in Harrison Township

Allegheny County sheriff’s deputies used a thermal imaging camera and drone to capture a man wanted on multiple outstanding warrants. Brandon Wheeler, 29, had eight warrants for his arrest stemming from a high-speed chase in June of this year. Authorities said investigators were able to track Wheeler to an apartment in Harrison Township. He contacted the police and was insulted, but was able to flee the scene. Officials said a thermal imaging camera was used to spot Wheeler and identify him as a heat signal in a wooded area. He was later found hiding behind a tree near a stream bed. He was taken into custody and now faces additional charges.
