Dewald Brevis and Dasun Shanaka receive IPL call calls as a replacement for Gurjapneet Singh and Glenn Phillips

By Shah Faisal

Brevis joins Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for INR 2.2 Crore and appears for injured Pacer Gurjapneet Singh, who was not visible in a single game this season. Shanaka, on the other hand, returns as a replacement for Glenn Phillips to Glenn Phillips to Gujarat Titans (GT), which was excluded with a solution to solutions against Sunriser’s Hyderabad.

Brevis gets a second wind – a chance to finally shine?

Dewald Brevis described ‘Baby ab’ for his trimmer, which reflects the unconventional flair of AB de Villiers, and broke on stage with high expectations. However, he still has to convert this early promise to IPL level into consistent services.

With 81 T20s, 1787 runs and a highest score of 162, Brevis has shown insights into his talent. Although it was not sold in the IPL 2025 auction at an basic price of INR 75 LAKH, his latest form-in the second highest run scorer in South Africa in the domestic one-day Cup Cup in South Africa with an average of 66 runs.

This CSK opportunity could be the stage that Brevis needs to finally justify the hype and save itself in the IPL. Could this be his breakout season? In order for this to happen, Brevis has to find a self -confident head and better luck, as it is not easy to get in with all weapons that blazed in the middle of an IPL season when everyone has adapted to the conditions and the match situation. But people with larger talents need adverse situations to express themselves, and it can be the second one in which he may have dreamed in his country

Gujarat Titans’ problems remain under the absence of the players

While CSK gently on emerging talents, Gujarat Titans (GT) strive to patch a squad plagued by injuries. The addition of Dasun Shanaka, who played three games for GT in 2023 and scored only 26 runs, is more about the need than the strategy. Shanaka did not bend during this stay and will now leave a stronger impression in his second inning with the franchise. Compared to Brevis, Shanaka has a calm head and smarter tactics for his franchise. It is not easy to fill the boots of an information and always flying philips, but each player comes with his own flair, and maybe this time Shankas can turn the sheet in his favor.

GT is still without Kagiso Rabada, who left the tournament on April 3 on April 3. The team has not yet given a replacement, and Rabada’s return is still uncertain. In its absence, the Titans, along with Phillips’ injury, clearly difficulty maintaining a competitive advantage in view of these important absences.

Since Impact Player empties and the training of concerns need to be emerging, GT needs more than just a quick solution to stay afloat at the tournament.
