The Arizona Diamondbacks and Ketel Marte reports reportedly approach a contract extension worth over 100 million US dollars.

According to MLB insider Mike Rodriguez, it is not now complete. However, the pages conclude an agreement.

Marte performed on Tuesday in the early phases of this season .333. The two-time all-star reduced in 136 games last season in 136 games for the diamondbacks .292/.372/.560.

The 31-year-old infielder has only got better with age because in his last two complete seasons he achieved over 10 times of the war in the last two full big league times.

This expansion takes place at an interesting time, since Marte has three years in his current offer plus a club option in 2028. It is likely that his extension would pay him more every year than he is currently doing.

An expansion of this size shows that the diamondbacks are firmly convinced that they have built up a candidate who can challenge the Dodgers for the National League West. Arizona missed the playoffs in 2024, but appeared in the World Series against the Texas Rangers in 2023.

Marte will be a valuable piece for the puzzle for years to determine the core of the diamondbacks alongside Corbin Carroll, Josh Naylor and Corbin Burnes. He becomes the fourth player who signs an extension in Arizona.

Geraldo Perdomo signed an extension by four years in February, while Justin Martinez and Brandon Pfaad signed five years of extensions within the past 60 days. It is expected that all four players have a big roles for the diamondbacks.
