Did Bold & Beautiful Just Recast Carter’s Ex Zoe?

Let the (guessing) games begin! While the cast and crew of Bold and beautiful I had a lot of fun at the show’s annual Christmas party (photos of which can be found here), with at least one person being introduced to those in attendance.

So who was the mysterious beauty? It turns out her name is Murielle Hilaire and she’s about to make a splash in the fashion industry. Details are still being kept under wraps, but we did find out that she will be playing a character named Daphne and that she will first air on Tuesday, January 7th.

Although we tried our best to find out more information from backstage sources, the best we could get was an assurance that her arrival would be “great.”

If you know anything about us, you know that with casting news like this, all we can do is speculate who the new character is and how he might be connected to the big screen. And in this case, we have a theory that we kind of like: Could Hilaire be playing Zoe Buckingham?

Yes, yes, the series says that the actress will play Daphne. But it wouldn’t be the first time a soap has manipulated the facts to keep a plot twist secret. And let’s be honest, the return of Carter’s ex could cause all sorts of drama, especially when it comes to his relationship with Hope!

Need a refresher course on Zoe? Well, the character was originally played by Kiara Barnes. Zoe and Carter became involved shortly after she learned that Beau Thomas was only using her to make his future girlfriend Hope jealous. (Worse, Zoe made this discovery on her actual wedding day!)

Carter was there to heal Zoe’s heart, and after overcoming the usual soapy obstacles, they made plans for the wedding. Unfortunately, she was devastated again when she learned that he had slept with her friend Quinn (who happened to be married to Eric at the time). Devastated, Zoe packed her modeling outfits and headed to Forrester International’s Paris office.

Interestingly, it wasn’t that long ago that Zoe’s sister Paris became engaged to Thomas, who had left Forrester International just a few months earlier after Hope refused to be his wife.

Can we hope that Zoe, Thomas and Paris all return from the overseas offices and cause several monkey-sized problems to Hope and Carter’s current romance?
