Discover Jon Bon Jovi’s favorite Bruce Springsteen songs

Jon Bon Jovi takes over SiriusXM’s E Street Radio (Ch. 20) as a guest DJ to share his favorite Bruce Springsteen songs and stories about their friendship.

Jon’s guest DJ session will air on E Street Radio on Monday, November 25th at 6:00 pm ET and is now available on-demand on the SiriusXM app.

During the session, Jon remembers seeing the E Street Band live for the first time.

“The first time I saw the E Street Band play live was at the Philadelphia Spectrum,” Jon says during the special. “They had performed in a few theaters, but this was their first arena that I was allowed to go to, and when they played ‘Spirit in the Night,’ Clarence (Clemons) blows the horn and the solo comes on, and by the way, the solo ends, Bruce is up in the third row sitting in the seats.”

Additionally, Jon tells a story about singing with Bruce at one of his performances in the late 1970s:

“In 1978 I was playing with Atlantic City Expressway, my very first cover band, playing the bars, and a Bruce and The E Street Band record came out called ‘Darkness on the Edge of Town,’ and we performed that song.” Promised Land,” and as I was singing the song, I turned around and when I turned around, Bruce was actually sitting on the microphone with me, singing along. Believe me, for a kid still in high school, that was a Beatles moment.”
