Disney+ is launching a new ESPN tile and hub on December 4, giving subscribers access to ESPN+ sports content as well as general entertainment, children’s and family programming.

Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ bundle subscribers in the US can integrate all three platforms via the Disney+ app.

Independent Disney+ subscribers have access to a curated selection of live sports, studio shows and ESPN movies from ESPN+, as well as a select collection of TV series and movies from Hulu.

This includes the animation “The Simpsons Funday Football” from ESPN+. Monday Night Football game, a lineup of five NBA Christmas Day games, as well as the animated NBA presentation “Dunk The Halls,” select “30 For 30” documentaries and coverage of Day 1 of the Australian Open.

And from Hulu, standalone Disney+ subscribers will have access to films and series at launch including Shōgun, Will Trent, Solar Opposites, Reservation Dogs and Dawn of the Planet of the Apesamong other things.

“This launch truly caps a fantastic year of innovation at Disney+,” Alisa Bowen, president of Disney+, said in a statement. “Earlier this year we made Hulu available on the Disney+ app, and now we’re doing the same for ESPN+. This gives our bundle subscribers one place to consume everything they love from all our brands.”

While the launch of ESPN on Disney+ will have an immediate impact on the Disney+ experience, it also lays the foundation for expanded sports offerings on Disney+ in the US with the launch of ESPN’s flagship direct-to-consumer product in fall 2025 is expected.

“In the first 90 days (through 2025), bundle subscribers should expect 5,000 live events, including NFL, NBA, NHL, College Basketball and Australian Open. Also new originals from 30 for 30 and ESPN Original Series,” added John Lasker, SVP of ESPN+.
