MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A member of the Shelby County Board of Commissioners said she will propose a “vote of no confidence” in the Memphis-Shelby County School Board after it tried to impeach Superintendent Dr. to fire Marie Feagins.

“I’m just amazed at the Dec. 17 meeting and the way it was handled,” County Commissioner Amber Mills told FOX13 on Friday.

The first resolution, co-sponsored by District 12 Commissioner Erika Sugarmon, concerns a vote of no confidence in the MSCS school board; the second will be a 90-day moratorium on funding for the new Frayser High School, which the commission passed on Dec. 16, a day before the school board called a public meeting to vote on terminating Feagins’ contract.
