DJO is the cover star of Diys April 2025 edition! • News • DIY Magazine

When Team Diy was lucky a few months ago to hear DJO’s new album, the first thing we did was the extent of his musicality. Similar to the most joyful musical magpie, ‘The Crux’ Joe Keery heads into a sound of Wonderland – and nodded everyone from the blows to the Beatles – and love to love every minute. This is one of the reasons why we found that he was the perfect cover star for our April 2025 edition. So if you are familiar with the star because you can be greeted with open arms in his new Technicolor world because of strangers or last year’s hits “End of the beginning”.

“I mostly only made music on my computer, so I was really inspired to properly record analog instruments in a studio,” explains Joe, to absorb the album in the legendary borders of Electric Lady Studios. “I had new access to this great new resource, so I wanted to imitate the records that inspire me when I grew up to somehow pay attention to these albums by fully using the studio.” Both the curious child and the adult Muso in him, as they feel, were in their absolute element during the recording. “How would I be 14 years old?” He raves. “AC/DC, T-Rex, the classic Glammy rock is what I loved.” Gap Tooth Smile “is a song that I almost wrote for myself as a young man-I think I would have been proud of it.”

Elsewhere in the edition of this month, we are presented with Lucy Dacus’ romantic period about their beautiful fourth record “Forever”. We are talking about the friendship with sunflower bean, while they are ready to share the new album “Mortal Primetime”, continue to reflect and continue with Jensen McRae. We also immerse yourself in Black Country, the latest chapter from New Road, on the other side with Momma and get the low point on the upcoming new album of Experimental London Octet Caroline, Ooh-Er.
