Do we really need to dig deep to find a reason why it’s okay to pardon Hunter Biden?

I’ve read a lot of stories

about President Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his son Hunter Biden, contrary to his previous statements on the subject.

Frank Vyan Walton addresses the topic in detail here: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2024/12/3/2289971/-Joe-had-no-choice-but-to-Pardon-Hunter-Point and partially states this

Anyone who has already paid back their taxes – plus interest and penalties – will no longer go to criminal court.

For example, Roger Stone owed more than Hunter, $2 million in back taxes, and all that happened was a lawsuit to get him to pay it back. Which he did. Nobody came after Roger Stone againafter he paid the bill, with criminal charges. That doesn’t happen.

One of the criminal cases against Hunter Biden involves back taxes he has already paid, including fines and interest.

But more importantly, in all of these stories (some of which, like Frank’s, are well written and reasoned), are you trying to make the case that it was the right thing to do?

Why would anyone even try to advocate something like this?

A president can pardon anyone for anything that was a federal crime, anythingand no one can do anything about it.

That’s why that bastard Donald Trump pardoned a bunch of people, including Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Michael Flynn, Stephen K. Bannon and George Papadopoulos.

NONE of them deserved to escape their due and just punishment.

So if President Joe Biden wants to pardon his only living son so he can spend time with Hunter in his final years?

Good for Joe and Hunter and the rest of their family.

I’m happy for all of them.

Rest assured, there will be a slew of pardons from the Trump White House soon, nor will he wait until he’s ready to leave office again.

I expect that beginning January 7, 2025, there will be a flurry of pardons from the Oval Office on the way to pardoning hundreds of these idiots who invaded, occupied, and defaced our Capitol on January 6, 2021.

By then, no one will remember that Joe gave Hunter a card in November that said, “Get out of jail, free.”
