Do you fancy owning Ken Block's vintage Subaru WRX STI rally car?

  • The car was used in the series World Rally Championship.
  • After Block and Pastrana drove the car, it competed in the Rally America.
  • The car’s 2.5 liter engine has been modified and features new suspension and brakes.

It’s not often that a real rally car comes up for auction, but that’s exactly what we have here. In addition to being used in multiple races, this 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI was driven by two of America’s most famous rally car drivers, Ken Block and Travis Pastrana.

This very special WRX STI was built by Vermont SportsCar and campaigned by Block and Pastrana in the Production World Rally Championship from 2007 to 2008. It took part in six races during the campaign and was later driven by Mark Fox and David Mirra in the Rally America. Originally it was a standard street WRX STI, but significant modifications turned it into an absolute beast.

Like a regular WRX STI, power is provided by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, and while no power and torque figures are known about this particular rally car, it inevitably has a lot more than the stock 300 hp and 300 lb -ft. The entire controller is a MoTec ECU that supports various power mappings. Vermont SportCar also developed a custom exhaust for the STI while also installing an FIA-spec fuel system with dual fuel pumps, Samco radiator hoses and an anti-lag function.

Because rally cars take a lot of abuse, Öhlins coilovers with external reservoirs can be found at all four corners. The Subbie also features upgradeable adjustable control arms, new stabilizer bar end links, upgraded brakes and rides on 15-inch Speedline Corse wheels with Pirelli Scorpion tires.

The interior has been disassembled and contains no elements that are not suitable for rallying. There’s a full roll cage, Sparco Circuit II halo seats, Momo steering wheel, fire suppression system, intercom, bespoke switch panels and fire extinguishers. A look at the odometer shows that the car has been driven 13,958 miles (~22,400 km).
