Do you have the winter blues? Use this natural remedy to lift your mood

If you're looking to plant some plants in your home this winter, consider choosing varieties that have proven to be easy to care for. One of these is the Philodendron pictured above.

Welcome to December, which is the same as welcome to winter. It doesn’t matter that we officially have three more weeks of fall on the astrological calendar. When December comes, mentally it feels like winter. For the most part, December is the happiest part of winter as it brings with it the holiday celebrations.

After the holidays, the winter blues can set in. There is an all-natural remedy you can bring into your home to lift your mood: add some houseplants or indoor plants. When I write about this topic, I always want to make it clear that the term “houseplants” is somewhat misleading.

There really is no plant designed to live in a house. A better description would be tropical plants; That’s actually what they are. The plants we use indoors as houseplants are plants that live outdoors all year round in tropical climates. Over time, horticultural experts have discovered that varieties thrive even in the harsh conditions of the average home.
