Dodgers’ Shoei ohtani “another way from pitching”

Los Angeles – Shohei Ohtani threw his first Bullpen meeting in a month on Saturday, but the reigning MVP of the National League has a lot to do before taking the hill for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Ohtani threw more than 20 parking spaces in the Bullpen in the Dodger Stadium after he had thrown into the outer field for a long time. The two-way superstar was also in his usual Leadoff-Platz in the Dodgers line-up as a proven striker for their series finale against the Detroit Tigers.

He had not dropped a hill since February 25th when he held his pitching work in spring training to prepare for the regular season as a striker. Ohtani still regularly thrown on flat ground the following month.

Dave Roberts, Manager of Dodgers, said at the beginning of the year that Ohtani could give his pitching debut for the Dodgers until May, but he repeated on Saturday that there was no fixed timeline.

“It will take a while,” said Roberts. “I think you start with the natural progress of a bullpen (session) and then have to mix different parking spaces for in the face of the bat. So I have no timeline. I don’t think nobody is doing it, but we are a way away.”

Ohtani no longer played in the Major League in a game in the Major League in September 2023 last month at the Los Angeles Angels. In November, more operations were operated on the left shoulder last November after taking the first 50-digit basic season in the history of the Major League and led Dodgers to their World Series Championship.

The Dodgers have the luxury of the time with Ohtani, which is $ 700 million in the second season of his 10-year contract. He already has two Homer among his six goals with 1.286 ops in the first four games of the new season.

The rotation of Los Angeles is loaded with the newcomers Blake Snell and Roki Sasaki, who include Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Dustin May.

But the Dodgers have a long history of serious injuries for their starting jugs, and the return of Ohtani will probably enable the team to set up a six-man rotation, since Ohtani will not take a squad as a pitcher.

“I think that we are still a very good club with him as DH,” said Roberts. “We still want him to pitch. He wants Pook and I think he can handle it. He did it in the past. I think the question is: ‘How much do we need him right now?’ And I think we answered that.
