Does DJ Moore want Caleb Williams to take more chances when he’s offside?

Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams has performed well in what has been a difficult season for the Chicago Bears, considering the chaos he has endured.

After an offensive coordinator change just eight games into his first season, followed by a change at the head coaching position shortly thereafter, Williams has played remarkably well and continues to show progress in his development. The biggest positive in his game right now is that Williams hasn’t thrown an interception during the seven-game losing streak, the longest such stretch for a rookie in NFL history.

The numbers for Williams aren’t eye-popping, and he’s consistently hampered by slow starts in the first half of football games, but he plays flawlessly.

On Monday, star wide receiver DJ Moore celebrated his weekly radio hit with “Mully & Haugh Show” and was asked if he wanted to see his rookie quarterback take more opportunities and attempt bigger plays downfield.

“No, I think it’s cool when he just doesn’t turn the ball over and we’re on the field and we have a positive attitude about just staying on the field as long as we can and scoring,” Moore said.

Of course, taking care of the ball is crucial to offensive success, but scoring points and continued production on offense are also crucial. Williams has had several games with subpar numbers, but he takes care of the ball, which is an important aspect for young quarterbacks.

There are still four games left in the Bears season, giving the rookie gunslinger a chance to better showcase his game, which in turn could lead to ending the current losing streak they’re in.
