Woods, one of the most decorated golfers in the history of sport, took 60th place on the field in last year’s tournament, his third tournament in a row, which he took under the 38th place. He is one of 16 former Masters champions who do not play in the Augusta National Golf Club this week.

The Masters, the first of four majors in the golf calendar, begins on Thursday, April 10th at 7.40 p.m. ET with the TEE-1 discount in Augusta. The reigning Masters Champion Scottie Scheffler will complete ET on Thursday at 10:15 a.m.

Does Tiger Woods play in the master this year?

No, Woods will not probably compete on the 2025 Masters tournament due to an injury.

The 15-time Major Champion announced on March 11 on X (formerly Twitter) that he retired from the Masters and future competitions due to the race of his left Achilles. On March 11, he was operated on in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“When I started improving my own training and practicing at home, I felt sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was considered broken,” Woods wrote in the post.

He added: “The operation went smoothly and we expect a complete recovery. I am now back home and plan to concentrate on my recovery and rehab. Thank you for the support.”

As found by Golfweek, it is the first year in 2021 that Woods will not compete at the Masters tournament, and for the fifth time in his career he lacks the Golf’s event event.

What is Tiger Wood’s violation?

Woods rehabilitates an Achilles injury that he suffered at home. He was operated on March 11th and is expected to have “a complete recovery”, he wrote in a post about X.

The announcement of the injuries for Woods came after playing in Jupiter with Jupiter in TGL, a new indoor golf League who debuted this year.
