‘Doomsday mom’ Lori Vallow Daybell is convicted in the death of the fourth man

“Doomsday Mom” Lori Vallow Daybell was convicted in Arizona on Tuesday to kill her fourth husband Charles Vallow.

A jury of the Supreme Court of Maricopa County owed Vallow Daybell to the conspiracy to commit murder in the deadly shootout in July 2019.

The brother of Charles Vallow, Gerry Vallow, said that the judgment brought him a little comfort.

“It was a relief, a long journey, and I’m just glad it’s over,” he said. “Today is a good day. We won.”

Sister Kay Woodcock, who also spoke in front of Phoenix’s courthouse, said: “We have cha. She will rot in prison where she deserves it.”

Vallow Daybell, who stood in court, told the jurors that her brother Alex Cox Charles Vallow shot in self -defense after a family argument. Cox later died of pulmonary embolism this year and was never charged.

According to Vallow Daybell, her husband Tylee Ryan got into an argument and threatened the teenager with a bat. Charles Vallow was in the house of his alienated wife in Chandler, Arizona to bring her son Joshua “JJ” Vallow to school.

The 51 -year -old Vallow Daybell was convicted in Idaho in 2023 because she killed her two children and her husband’s first wife, Tammy Daybell. It already serves life in prison without the possibility of probation.

In a statement, the Tammy Douglas Daybell Foundation expressed a feeling of “relief and closure” after the judgment of Tuesday.

“While no judgment can bring back to those we have lost, this decision is a crucial step to honor the memory of Charles, JJ, Tylee and Tammy,” said the foundation.

The public prosecutor’s office in the case of Arizona dismissed Vallow Daybell’s right to self -defense and argued that she had several reasons for wanting her husband to start a life with another man.

“Lori Vallow wanted Lori Daybell, wife of Chad Daybell. And in July 2019 Lori Vallow wanted to keep the same lifestyle she had with Charles. And she could get all of this when Charles was dead,” said prosecutor Treena Kay in her opening statements.

Kay continued: “She was able to marry Chad Daybell and become Lori Daybell. She would receive a million dollar life insurance from Charles Vallow.

The prosecutor added that Vallow Daybell referred to people who did not agree with her as “dark” or “of evil spirits” and used religion to justify Charles Vallow’s death.

Vallow Daybell and Chad Daybell, a Doomsday author, married in November 2019.

In her final argument on Monday, Vallow Daybell said that prosecutors tried to “retrofit a crime that does not exist”.

“According to Arizona’s law, I had the right to self -defense. Tylee had the right to self -defense. Alex had the right to self -defense. This event was not planned or expected. It was shocking,” she said. “This event was not a crime. It was a tragedy. Don’t let it transform my family into a crime.”

During the experiment by Vallow Daybell, the jury heard from a medical examiner who said that Charles Vallow could have been on a solid surface like a floor when he was shot. The fatal shot went through his heart, said the medical examiner Derek Bumgarner.

Adam Cox informed the court that he “undoubtedly” published his sister with her brother to kill Charles Vallow. He said that Vallow Daybell had made strange religious comments in front of the shootout and that he and Charles Vallow wanted to carry out an intervention to address them.

Further statements were those of Chandler police officer Cassandra YnClan, who told the court that Vallow Daybell “seemed very common and nonchalant on the day of her husband’s death.

The state interpreted its case last week. Vallow Daybell rested without providing evidence or calling witnesses.

The juror Victoria Lewis told NBC Affiliate KPNX von Phoenix that lies from defense were revealed in the course of the process and that Vallow Daybell seemed unshakable in her role, has her own advice factors that burdened Lewis’s decision.

“For many days they were just like smiling and laughed and seemed to take nothing very seriously,” said Lewis in front of the courthouse.

The conviction in criminal matters usually takes place for about 30 days from the date of a judgment. KPNX reported that the conviction would be delayed until a separate case against Vallow Daybell is complete.

In this case, Vallow Daybell conspiredly confused Brandon Boudreax to kill her niece’s alienated husband, and the judge found that this could complicate the calendar. He ordered a status update for mid-May.

After the judgment on Tuesday, Vallow Daybell looks like the possibility of life behind bars.
