Drew Barrymore let a cheating ex watch him drink with another woman

Hell hath no fury like one that Drew Barrymore despised.

On Monday’s episode of her talk show, the 49-year-old actress recalled the unique way she sought revenge on an unnamed ex-boyfriend after learning he was cheating on her. And yes, you can bet she made sure he properly atoned for his relationship crimes.

“I found out my ex-boyfriend cheated on me. That was decades ago,” Barrymore explained to guest SZA. “I took all of his stuff into my house and put it all in his car, and then I rolled his car down the driveway, left it there and just walked away.”

But that was just the first step in Barrymore’s plan. “Then I had the girl he was cheating on me with meet me for a drink while he sat there,” she added. “I thought to myself, ‘You’re going to sit here and listen to the two of us talk!’ So shut up and listen!’ And then I drove him home and looked at him and said, ‘Now get out.'”

Although Barrymore didn’t specifically name her former partner, she noted that they have since patched up their relationship and that he has become a “dear friend” over the years. “We were young and stupid!” she said in his defense. “I did stupid things too!”

SZA was all for it. “That wasn’t stupid. That was fire. I am inspired. I am deep inspired,” she noted. “I want to go get coffee and get out of the car.”

Barrymore then vowed that she would teach the “Drew Barrymore” singer “all my old tricks” because she maintained meaningful platonic relationships with all of her exes. She continued: “Later I thought, ‘Look, you know what, we were just kids.’ I made mistakes too. And we are human. And there was so much that I loved about you. And can we be in each other’s lives?'”

While SZA appreciated Barrymore’s opinion, she didn’t necessarily agree with her thought process. “Maybe in the future? Maybe after some time?” Barrymore asked the Grammy winner. “Time heals.”

To which SZA replied, “No, that’s not the case. Time flies, baby. Time flies!” A laughing Barrymore added: “We need more of each other in our lives.”
