Drive By Shooting Sample: 2 arrested for attempted murder

RAMAPO, NY – Charges have been filed in connection with an investigation into early morning shots fired from a moving car.

Just after midnight Monday, the Ramapo Police Department responded to East Eckerson Road in the town of Ramapo to a report of shots fired. Officers on scene recovered evidence that at least nine shots were fired from a passing vehicle.

According to police, no victims were hit and no one was injured.

Two suspects were arrested. A 22-year-old Yonkers man and a 19-year-old Newburgh man were charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and conspiracy. They were each arraigned in Ramapo City Court.

According to the Ramapo City Police Department, the investigation is ongoing. Ramapo Police were assisted at the scene by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
