Driver killed in head-on collision with tractor-trailer, cops say

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Spartanburg County. The accident occurred around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday on Gateway Drive near Brockman McClimon Road in Greer, South Carolina. According to police, a 2020 Chevrolet pickup truck collided head-on with a semi-truck. Officials said the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. The driver of the pickup was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where they later died, troopers said. The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s name at this time. The accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office.
