Many fans in the MMA community are excited to relive the moment when Amanda Nunes’ strong performance forced Ronda Rousey to retire. Everyone praised Nunes and some speculated about her possible comeback to the UFC.

For comparison, after a year-long hiatus, Rousey returned to the octagon at UFC 207 to challenge Nunes for the bantamweight title. Unfortunately, the 37-year-old was unable to reclaim her title as she was defeated by Nunes, who knocked out Rousey with devastating punches in the opening round.

This was Rousey’s final appearance in the octagon, as she announced her retirement from the sport in 2016 and became the first female fighter to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018.

Dana White talks about the possible return of Amanda Nunes

Amanda Nunes retired from MMA after defeating Irene Aldana at UFC 289 last year. However, Nunes could be persuaded to return to the UFC after her former opponent Julianna Pena knocked her out following her title win at UFC 307.

Nunes then teased her return with a video of herself dancing on social media. During a post-fight press conference for “Dana White’s Contender Series,” when Dana White was asked about the Instagram post “The Lioness.” White replied:

“She (Nunes) looks good, she looks great, looks like she’s still in shape. “So you know what she’s thinking about and that’s what I love about her. There’s a lot of things I love about her, that’s what I love about her. “She’s keeping an eye on who wins the title next and I think she’s teasing that she might be interested in coming back.”
