Ella Seidel played in front of an almost capacity in the Porsche Arena and served the emotional highlight of the day when he won a dramatic threesome against the German German Tatjana Maria. The two-time Stuttgart winner IGA Swiatek was in an impressive form when she advanced to the quarter-finals. Waiting for the fans on Thursday is another high-class schedule, including two German players and three top stars from the USA.

What an evening for Ella Seidel – and what a match in the Porsche Arena. In the second all-German duel in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, the 20-year-old of the Porsche Talent team defeated Tatjana Maria, the semi-finalist 2022, in a highly dramatic competition that lasted 51 minutes (3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4). It was her first appearance at the Center Court – and another milestone in her young career. Seidel has developed into the last 16 of a WTA 500 tournament for the second time.

After converting her first point of play, she was pumped with fist and was visibly relieved. The German’s big smile said everything. “I was very nervous at the beginning, but then it was cool to play in front of so many people,” said the world No. 124. “I’m overjoyed at the moment.”

The former IGA Swiatek, girlfriend of the Porsche brand in Poland, underlined her title ambitions at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix with an impressive performance. In the first encounter of the evening meeting, the world No. 2 and Stuttgart drove in 2022 and 2023 Jana Fett 6: 2, 6: 2. The five-time Grand Slam champion dominated the process with its strong floor strokes and gave the Croatian opportunities to play their own game. She only took an hour 16 minutes to complete her first victory of the season in Clay Court. “I gave myself a bit of time to get into the match, and then I found my rhythm,” said the 23 -year -old. “It was a good match, I’m happy.” If she should win another title, she would not only improve her fantastic record in Stuttgart, but also take the car of the winner – a Porsche Macan Turbo – at home

The first game of the day at the Center Court was a family matter for Mirra and Erika Andreeva. However, the sister verse sister competition ended prematurely when Erika, a happy loser, had to retire at 6: 2, 1-0 with a knee injury. Mirra Andreeva, who claimed the titles at the WTA 1000 tournaments in Dubai and Indian Wells this year, dominated the first set and was visibly emotional after the game had come off. “We got together to know what happened,” she said. “I am happy to have won the match, but at the same time she had to retire.” The interview on the square ended with a special moment when the 17-year-old animated the crowd to sing “Happy Birthday” for her coach Conchita Martínez. The former Wimbledon champion celebrates its 53rd birthday today.
