ESPN’s “College GameDay” location for Week 16

ESPN’s “College GameDay” will not attend the Army Black Nights-Navy Midshipmen game or any other college football game in Week 16. The Army-Navy game is college football’s regular season finale and has the weekend to itself (outside of the festivities). Bowl and Veterans Bowl).

Army vs. Navy will be played at the Washington Commanders’ Northwest Stadium on Saturday, December 14 at 3:00 p.m. ET. Army (11-1) and Navy (8-3) are both having outstanding seasons, and the Army-Navy rivalry is the best in college football (sorry, Ohio State-Michigan, Army and Navy know about good sportsmanship).

The Army-Navy game will be televised on CBS. ESPN’s matchup predictor gives Army a 65.9% chance of winning.

It’s always understandable that GameDay doesn’t want to take part in a neutral side game. However, last week, GameDay attended No. 5 Georgia vs. No. 2 Texas in the SEC Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Georgia won the first ever SEC Championship overtime game.

GameDay participated in 10 games with at least one SEC team this season, more than any other conference. GameDay attended the Army-Navy game every season from 2014 to 2021, but has not attended an Army-Navy game for three consecutive seasons.

GameDay has announced where the first round of the College Football Playoff will take place. The crew plans to attend the Notre Dame-Indiana game on Friday, December 20th and then the Ohio State-Tennessee game on Saturday, December 21st.

Next week, GameDay coverage begins Friday at 3:30 p.m. ET and Saturday at 9:00 a.m. ET (ESPN). Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee all serve as college football analysts for GameDay.
