“Etienne climbs into the Jaguars’ franchise record books”

A former Clemson star climbed into the Jacksonville Jaguars’ franchise record books on Sunday.

In Week 17 of the NFL season, former Tiger running back Travis Etienne rushed for 49 yards on 15 carries in Jacksonville’s 20-13 home win over the Tennessee Titans.

When Etienne reached 25 rushing yards early in the second quarter, his career rushing yards total increased to 2,636 and he moved past Leonard Fournette (2,631) into fourth place among running backs in franchise history in rushing yards ahead.

Etienne also caught a pass for 26 yards in Sunday’s game. With this reception, he eclipsed the 1,000 career receiving yards mark (1,017) and passed Fournette (1,009) to rank fourth among running backs in receiving yards in franchise history.

Entering Sunday’s game, Etienne had rushed for 478 yards and two touchdowns on 122 carries in 13 games this season. He also had 35 catches for 199 yards entering Sunday’s game.

A first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft (25Th Overall, Etienne recorded two consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons in 2022 and 2023, totaling 2,133 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns during that span. He added 792 receiving yards and one touchdown reception on 93 catches during the 2022–23 seasons.

Etienne and the Jaguars (4-12) travel to Indianapolis next weekend to finish the 2024 season.
