Everything you have to know as Sainz ‘Williams Heads Heads Ferraris on the second test

Williams led the second day of 2025 Formula 1 pre-season tests with Carlos Sainz to the two Ferraris, while McLaren hid his direct pace.

Liam Lawson from Sainz and Red Bull were the only two drivers who did all day, while every other team swapped the driver during the lunch break.

This gave Sainz the chance to increase 127 laps, and his afternoon began with a appearance on the C3 tires.

Sainz ‘1m29.348s round against them presented him in front of Lewis Hamilton’s morning benchmark for Ferrari for 0.031 seconds.

Charles Leclerc took over the Ferrari for the afternoon and led the softer C4 tires for a magic, but was unable to point his hand quite on the best round on Isack Hadjar’s slower racing bull and third place for the day, 0.083s before Sainz.

Both Sainz and Leclerc later had quick turns when drizzle and cold conditions further influenced the programs of the teams.

The morning runner from Mercedes, George Russell, was fourth before the best afternoon efforts by teammate Kimi Antonelli, Aston Martin and Lawson by Lance Stroll.
