Exclusive interview with Idaho Rep. Russ Fulcher

CBS2 spoke with Idaho Representative Russ Fulcher about many issues important to Idahoans.

“I think this is a good step and I think they should do it if necessary. “Going forward, every state is a border state with this open border situation, and I think that’s more relevant now than ever, probably because the cartels know that it’s probably going to be closed when a new administration arrives,” Fulcher said when asked , whether Idaho will send troops to the southern border.

Fulcher also added, “I recently learned that the number of fentanyl deaths in Idaho at this point was about 197 and every state is a border state, so we need to get some help down there.”

His thoughts on the Boise State women’s volleyball team having to forfeit games against San Jose State because it has a transgender athlete on its roster come at a monumental time.

“I think a loss is a win in this case and a win for women’s sports. And that’s exactly what this is about – protecting women’s sports. We don’t want men to participate in women’s sports. And that’s what this is about.” That’s why I fully support it. Fulcher said

This week, the LPGA Tour changed its gender eligibility requirements. Male players who have passed male puberty are now barred from competing on the LPGA Tour and other elite LPGA competitions.

“Overall, I think the president needs to have people with whom he feels comfortable carrying out these duties, and that’s exactly what he’s tried to do. Now the process will take its place. I have no serious concerns “I’ve heard that this is the right position for these roles, but this will be a real change for America and I think it’s time,” Fulcher said following President Trump’s election was asked for the post of Minister in the Ministry of Health and Social Services.

We also learned that Fulcher promotes the use and expansion of geothermal energy through the Clean Act and is a supporter of the Show Up Act, which would require government employees to be present at work.
