Fahadh Faasil’s Bougainvillea OTT Streaming Details

Bougainvillea, starring Kunchacko Boban, Jyothirmayi and Fahadh Faasil, was released in theaters on October 17, 2024 and is now slated for three releases across all digital platforms. Directed by Amal Neerad, the film delves deep into the psychological slasher sub-genres and also stars him and Eeswar in lead roles and is scheduled to premiere on SonyLIV on December 13, 2024, about two months after it hits the screen.

Fans are looking forward to the release on OTT platforms between seasons and the announcement has already created excitement among them.

The film Bougainvillea is about the problems that Dr. Royce Thomas surrounded with his wife Reethu and his family. Reethu, who returns to the role after about seven years after suffering an accident, returns her character a few years later and finds herself in the middle of a psychological thriller.

Reethu has lost most of her memories and now suffers from a mental disorder that causes a large section of the picture to be missing or out of sight. However, the disappearance of several women who were later presumed dead had made it extremely easy for Reethu to be a new suspect and of course dragged her into a whirlwind that had no other direction than to regain her lost memories.

The film features some prominent names like Veena Nandakumar, Sharaf U Dheen, Srinda, Shobi Thilakan and Jinu Joseph playing pivotal roles.

One of the most striking features of Jyothirmayi is that the actress made her comeback to the silver screen after an 11-year gap. Her last role was in the 2014 film Urava. Fans and critics of the actress consider her appearance in the film as the perfect time for her comeback.

There are critics who consider Bougainvillea to be one of the film’s strengths, others have mixed feelings about the film. The film seemed to do well commercially. The film has a strong soundtrack with Sushin Shyam, which has received acclaim.

Kunchacko Boban, on the other hand, has managed to bag a role in the Mammootty starrer that fans have been looking forward to for a long time: MMMN, directed by Mahesh Narayanan. The supporting cast also includes Fahadh Faasil and Moha Arjun in an extended cameo.

Fahadh Faasil will also soon be seen in the film Pushpa 2: The Rule, where he plays the villain opposite Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna.
