“Family Feud’s record-breaking quick cash win stuns Steve Harvey.”

Family feud is by far one of the most accessible in the game show genre. It’s riveting, sometimes eye-rolling, sometimes surprising, and its unscripted moments often lead to hilarious climaxes aided by the host Steve HarveyIt’s his intrinsic talent to run with it. His feigned shock is often exaggerated, but every now and then Harvey is legitimately stunned. One such case occurred during a record-breaking fast money win in 2023.

A flood of number one answers on Family Feud’s Fast Money.

The Family feud The Fast Money round is played by the family that won the “Feud” portion Family feud. Two members of the winning family are chosen, and while one player is off stage, the first player is given a series of five questions to answer within 20 seconds. The goal is to find the most popular answer from a survey of 100 people. The goal is to reach 200 points, and if the first player doesn’t reach it, it falls to the second player, who can’t repeat the answers already given to make up the rest. If they get it, they win big money (“And maybe they’ll just drive out of here with a new car!”), and if they don’t, they get some money. Enough to buy everyone a Slurpee.

The 200 points have never been collected by the first player in the Steve Harvey era (this participant achieved it when Ray Combs was the host). But in a rare moment, like when a family chooses to “pass” rather than “play,” the audience was shocked Lisa Doughty almost did so as she took her place on stage and rattled off her answers in 18 seconds. While she didn’t make it to 200, she came pretty darn close, finishing her round with a whopping 198 points by hitting every number one answeras seen in the YouTube clip above. It was a direct hit for her sister, Amywho received 14 points by answering “husband” to the question: “Name someone in your life who you wish would take a vow of silence.”

For contestant #2 on Family Feud’s Fast Money, it’s not always a slam dunk

It wasn’t the first time a contestant gave all the number one answers in the first round of Fast Money with the previous record holder Courtney Kline When the Kline family performed, they scored 193 points Family feud. Like Amy, Courtney’s mother Maria Anne Her first answer addressed the remaining points and then some. It should be impossible to miss two or seven more points. Even 20 points wouldn’t be difficult to get – and that might The epic failure of Anna Sass in a 2014 episode that is so unbearable to watch.

Just like Courtney and Lisa, Tim Sass had all the first answers in his Fast Money round, earning 182 points. That left Anna with 18 points to make up 200 points, which brought in a lot for the Sass family. No problem, right? Incorrect. Anna managed a stunning zero points in her round. Zero. Nothing. Nada. Goose egg. Her first answer should have yielded something, but not one person in a hundred answered “four” when asked, “What chances do you think men would have of dating a girl who is a 10?” Other wrong answers, which she gave: In a restaurant, you don’t usually look at the clock, a person’s stomach doesn’t vomit, and married people aren’t permanently married. Add in a no-response trial of “Name a Noisy Insect,” and a zero is arguably far friendlier than receiving a negative score.

Unless you were there Family feud or others of its kind, It’s largely unfair to judge people who crash and burn on a nationally televised game show with its time limits, cameras and other elements that can shake even the deepest souls. But thank God that Amy didn’t just have to catch up on two points and fail. That’s kind of a victory, isn’t it? Survey says…
