Family issues update on missing Broadway dancer

Zelig Williams, a popular Broadway dancer, is still missing after disappearing three months ago. The dancer was first reported missing in his home state of South Carolina on October 3, 2024, after leaving his mother’s home WIS 10. Twenty-four hours later, an officer discovered Williams’ car abandoned in the Palmetto Trail parking lot on Bluff Road, with no sign of the entertainer.

Family members organized official search parties for the dancer in December 2024, without success. On Thursday (Jan. 2), Williams’ cousin, Mieoki Corbett-Jacobs, posted an update on the search for Zelig. She confirmed that he had not been found and shared that they believed Zelig’s disappearance was the result of something far worse.

“The year 2025 is here and tomorrow will be the third month since Zelig Williams left home and set out with a folder in hand…possibly to drop it off or meet someone briefly,” Mieoki wrote Corbett Jacobs on Facebook. “On behalf of Kathy Williams, Christine Mclaughlin Barber, Caroline Lewis Jones and our family, we thank you for your unwavering support. With that in mind, we would like to provide some updates and understanding: The search will continue, but not in the areas we previously searched (additional dates and locations will be available in the next week or two). We do not believe Zelig is in the water and we ABSOLUTELY believe there is a crime associated with his disappearance.”

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott previously held a news conference following Williams’ disappearance in October. At the start of the investigation, Lott and his department said they would not rule out foul play.

Additionally, around this time, the family stated that Zelig Williams may have stopped taking his medication to treat his mental health at the time of his disappearance.

For those who may have information about Zelig Williams and his whereabouts, his family urges the public to contact the Richland County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 576-3000 or Crime Stoppers at crimesc.com.
