Fantasy Football WR Rankings Week 13: Who should start, best sleepers, injuries, waiving wire picks at wide receiver

As always, fantasy managers were presented with a wide range of results from their wide receivers in Week 12. At one end of the spectrum, Courtland Sutton scored 29.7 PPR points, marking his third time scoring 19 points in the last month. Jaylen Waddle also finally had his breakthrough, although he likely ended up on everyone’s bench.

Sutton and Waddle highlighted the positives, but Justin Jefferson was one of the biggest disappointments of the week. For the first time this season he scored fewer than five points. Somewhere out there is a team that has both Jefferson and Jordan Addison in the starting lineup and can handle Jefferson’s tough play thanks to Addison’s 30.2 points.

In fantasy football, every week will be full of exciting performances, but also disappointments. As a fantasy manager, you can only put yourself in a position to succeed. If you’re not sure how to do that, check out Sporting News’ Week 13 rankings, which should set you up for success this week.

Who are the best fantasy WRs of Week 13?

AJ Brown has been a catcher every time he takes the field this season, but he has had some disappointing fantasy days due to a lack of targets. With Saquon Barkley dominating the run game so much, the Eagles haven’t gone to the air as often as they have in the past. But when Philadelphia takes on the Ravens in Baltimore, it will almost certainly have to vent in what could be a back-and-forth matchup. The Ravens are giving up the most points to wide receivers this season, so look for Brown to eat in this monster matchup.

Nico Collins had some success in Week 11 after returning from a hamstring injury, but he was a bigger force in a surprise loss to the Titans in Week 12. Collins had five catches for 92 yards and a touchdown, but his day could have been even bigger. He was denied a go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter because of an illegal formation. With the Jags up next, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Collins made up for it with a multi-TD effort.

The Steelers can be stingy at times and have an effective pass rush, but Ja’Marr Chase is on another level right now. He moves all over the field, and if the Steelers pay too much attention to him, Tee Higgins will make them pay. With Cincinnati’s defense having a hard time stopping anyone right now, the Bengals will have to endure a lot to stay competitive. This bodes well for Chase.

Who are the WRs on the bye in Week 13?

There are no teams playing on byes in Week 13 as three Thanksgiving games take place on Thursday, November 28th. The Broncos, Colts, Patriots, Commanders, Ravens and Texans will be on byes in Week 14.

Who are the best fantasy WR waiver pickups in Week 13?

The options left at wide receiver won’t particularly excite many fantasy managers, but a guy like DeMario Douglas can certainly help out in a pinch during difficult weeks or if you’re dealing with injuries. Douglas has had at least four catchers and five targets in the last five games and has become one of Drake Maye’s favorite targets. To be competitive, the Pats will need to take to the air more often, so Douglas could prove useful down the stretch.

Adam Thielen returned to the Panthers after being placed on IR with a hamstring injury. While he didn’t light up the Chiefs, he looked sharp with three catches for 57 yards. He also caused what looked like a crucial pass interference in the end zone late in the fourth quarter. Carolina scored, giving the Panthers an improbable lead over the reigning Super Bowl champions with just under a minute to play. But the defense couldn’t keep up and the Chiefs escaped with a win. But with Bryce Young improving, Thielen could carve out a role while freshman Jalen Coker struggles with a quadriceps injury.

Who are the best Week 13 fantasy WR sleepers?

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has continued to be an important player for the Titans since the departure of De’Andre Hopkins. While Calvin Ridley is clearly the alpha in this wide receiver group, Westbrook-Ikhine now has a TD in six of his last seven games. He only had two catches in Week 12 against the Texans, but they racked up 48 yards and a score. Given the Commanders’ leaky secondary this week, look for NWI to get close to the payroll again.

With the release of Daniel Jones, the Giants have turned to Tommy DeVito at quarterback. For Tommy Cutlets it’s all about getting the ball out quickly and that really benefits Wan’Dale Robinson. The slot receiver had some productive games early in the season but has quieted down lately, as has much of the Giants’ passing game. Robinson rushed for 47 yards on five catches in the loss. Robinson isn’t a great choice for TDs, but given how much he’ll likely see, he could be a valuable asset again, especially in PPR leagues.

What are the biggest WR injuries in Week 13?

The Bills have a bye, but before that Keon Coleman was out for two weeks with a wrist injury. There have been few updates on his progress, so we’ll leave him unrated for now.

DeVonta Smith missed a Sunday Night Football game against the Rams in Week 12 with a hamstring injury. He struggled with the same injury earlier in the season, so it’s possible it’s a re-aggravation and he’ll be out for several weeks. There’s no doubt that Philly will do everything they can to get him ready for the Ravens, but his status is very uncertain right now, so we’re leaving him out of the rankings for now.

Brandin Cooks was on IR with a knee injury and his practice window to return began last week. He wasn’t able to compete against the Commanders in Week 12, so we’ll leave him unrated for now. But there’s still a chance he’ll be active on Thanksgiving when the Cowboys host the Giants.

Romeo Doubs suffered a concussion in Green Bay’s win over the 49ers. If he can’t go, look for Dontayvion Wicks to see an increase in targets.
