Fatal accident on State Highway 58 at mile 1.5 near Worley

Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle fatal accident that occurred at approximately 12:26 p.m. on November 29, 2024 on eastbound State Highway 58 near milepost 1.5 in Kootenai County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a white 2000 Honda CR-V was traveling westbound on State Highway 58, exited left of center and collided head-on with a blue 2011 Chrysler Town & Country that was on the State Highway 58 was traveling eastbound.

The Honda was driven by a 31-year-old man from Aberdeen, Washington, who was the sole occupant, was not wearing a seatbelt, and died from his injuries at the scene.

The Chrysler was driven by a 20-year-old woman from Spokane Valley, Washington. Also in the Chrysler were a 22-year-old woman from Spokane Valley, Washington, an 18-year-old woman from Spokane Valley, Washington, and a 17-year-old man from Moscow, Idaho. All occupants of the Chrysler were wearing seatbelts and were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Traffic on State Highway 58 was closed in both directions for approximately 3.5 hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved.

The deceased’s next of kin have been notified.

This crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
