Federal authorities are currently searching for a Wisconsin man charged with triple murder

NEW LISBON, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin have provided an update on the search for Virgil Thew, the suspect in a murder investigation, after a woman and her children were found dead in a residence.

Officers are now receiving assistance from federal agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Service, in their search for Thew, according to a news release from the New Lisbon Police Department.

The last confirmed location for Thew was on Jan. 1 near Orange Road and McEwen Road in Lisbon Township. His last known vehicle was recovered by local law enforcement.

They have warrants through Juneau County for three counts of first-degree intentional homicide and another through Wisconsin Probation and Parole. He is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities are urging anyone who sees him to avoid confrontation and to call 911 immediately.

The investigation began after a call just before New Year’s Day reporting that three people – an adult and two children – were found dead in a home in New Lisbon.
