Female boxer wins title after gender controversy at Olympics

Boxer Angela Carini celebrated winning the 2024 Italian women’s boxing title after fighting at the 2024 Paris Olympics against a competitor with a gender disorder who had failed previous International Boxing Association (IBA) gender tests.

The victory for Carini came months after she suffered a beating in the ring Imane Khelif, an Olympic boxer from Algeria who, according to the IBA, had failed all gender tests and was later alleged to have failed demonstrably a natural mansaid a French journalist who received a medical report.

After winning the title, the boxer said: “Tonight was my revenge.” Telegraph reporter wrote on X. “About 2024 for Angela Carini. At the Paris Olympics she endured torment and gross injustice, forced to withdraw after 46 seconds against an opponent who had failed two gender tests. Four months later she has just won the Italian title…”

After Carini gave up her fight against Khelif – who should have fought in the women’s boxing category despite the controversy – the Algerian boxer took gold in the final women’s welterweight boxing match, which was criticized by many, such as: The Daily Wire has already reported.

Megyn Kelly, host of The Megyn Kelly Show podcast, criticized the move, writing in all caps how unfair it was that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) awarded Khelif the gold medal in a women’s competition.

“Don’t you understand? Don’t you understand what this madness is doing to women?” Kelly wrote. “Why do girls have to share their bathrooms with boys? YOUR locker rooms? YOUR SPORTS? YOUR PRISONS?”

“To all the media who have failed women at every turn in this boxing and in virtually EVERY transgender story: SHAME ON ALL OF YOU,” Kelly added.

Talk show host Piers Morgan described the appointment of Khelif as women’s world champion as a “travesty”.

“From Emmeline Pankhurst to here…where are the feminists of the world now that women’s hard-won rights are being so shamefully destroyed?” Morgans post read.

“BREAKING: A biological male just won an Olympic gold medal in a women’s boxing competition. Congratulations to everyone who supported this travesty,” he said added.

Khelif previously failed the IBA’s gender suitability tests, but was approved by the IOC (International Olympic Committee) to compete against biological females at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Olympics have officially severed ties with the IBA, which the IOC now calls “not credible” and allows boxers to compete based on the gender listed on their passports, rather than enforcing gender-based testing.
