Finally, NVIDIA admits that a GPU deficiency on RTX 50-Serie-RTX 5090, RTX 5080 shares can occur

Nvidia finally admitted in the official forums (via VideoCardz) that players may have difficulty finding stocks for RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 that compete with the best graphics cards.

“We expect a significant demand for GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080 and believe that stock-outs could occur,” Tim@nvidia published in the Nvidia forums. “Nvidia and our partners send more shares every day to put GPUs into the hands of players.”

PC retailers said that the RTX 5090 supply is in bad road. According to a reseller in Great Britain, the inventory is below 10 units – a small number for such a powerful GPU that will probably be exposed to increased demand for its performance, especially in AI applications. We even saw Scalper, who sold “rights” to the flagship GPU and offered them with a surcharge of the triple MSRP.

We have already expected this with the RTX 5090, especially since smaller companies that work with Ai tech acquire it for training their LLMs. We even saw that manufacturers such as Tinybox Ai Accelerators offered by four RTX 4090 that were offered for $ 25,000. It is disappointing, however, that the “warehouse” will also include the RTX 5080, a cheaper GPU that will choose many enthusiasts and hardcore players for their builds in 2025.

The situation is similar to the Intel -Arc B580, whereby the demand exceeds the supply of individual dealers, even though they have received weekly refilling from Intel. Even today, one and a half months since the GPU champion of 249 US dollars, it is still a challenge to find one at Amazon and Best Buy.

So if you want to be one of the first ones who receive an RTX 5090 or RTX 5080, you should face your next big PC retailer. You should also avoid buying GPUs from a scalator – it is not worth paying via the RRP to get a new GPU into your hands, especially if you only use it for games.
