In the animal shelter in the 333 Wire Road in Aiken, Fotas delivers a matchmaker quiz before summarizing potential couples with common couples.

“This time we have so many dogs that our kennels are very loud. If our adopters go through this, it can be as if they don’t know where they should look or which dog should save. It is almost overwhelming. So if you tell us what you want, we will find out what dogs we believe of are the ideal match for you, ”said Kathy Cagle, program coordinator for Fotas.

If you cannot adopt, you can contact or promote an animal to help you stay in good condition.

We heard the story of Cookie, a larger dog that has been in the shelter for a few months.

He has become stressed, and a volunteer who takes him out could help.

“He was sad. So now we’ll send it out. We have a Doggy Day Out program, where people only take dogs out for an hour, bring them to Starbucks or be able to get them into the park and only get out of the noises for a short time with individual attention, ”said Cagle. “It’s incredible. They calm down and feel loved. They come back relaxed and happy. It really works with him, and I think the more the exposure of people gets who take it out, you know, and it will help you get a home and it will keep it healthy until we can get it out. “

The shelter is open on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The speed dating ends around 1 p.m.
