First weather alert day: Rain impacts morning commute

CINCINNATI (WXIX) — The FOX19 NOW weather team has declared Wednesday a First Alert Day, with widespread rain impacting your morning commute.

Interstate 75 northbound near downtown Cincinnati is partially closed as a semi-truck blocks the left northbound lanes at Ezzard Charles Drive.

According to the Cincinnati Fire Department, no injuries were reported in the semi-truck accident.

Traffic delays are also occurring on northbound I-275 at Ohio 32 in eastern Hamilton County/western Clermont County.

The left lane is closed until further notice.

From 11 a.m. the rain will ease and the temperatures will become significantly cooler and will be over 40 °C on Wednesday afternoon.

Sunday morning will be very cold with a low of 19 degrees and an afternoon high of 31 degrees when the Cincinnati Bengals return to Paycor Stadium for a 1 p.m. home game against the Cleveland Browns.

Looking beyond the weekend, it looks like a warming trend will push temperatures well above normal as we approach Christmas Day.

At this point it looks like there will be no white Christmas this year.

On the positive side, the travel weather looks good for several hundred kilometers in every direction.

National travel appears to be slow over the holidays in the Pacific Northwest.
