Fish Keepers Altar Location – How to Find Relics and Enchantment Staffs

Enchanting a rod into fish can give it all sorts of crazy buffs and parameters. But it’s not as easy as talking to a guy in the starting village and throwing down some money.


How to enchant rods into fish

To enchant a rod into fish, you need to find an enchantment relic.

Once you’ve landed one, holding it in your hands and pressing the usual action button instead of enchanting your equipped rod will bring up a message telling you to visit a Keeper Altar at night.

Where is the Guardian Altar in Fish?

Try as you might, you won’t be able to find the Altar of the Keeper if you look at the location markers as you sail across the sea.

A Guardian Altar is also not the same as the innkeepers that sell resting places on every island. These are beds, not altars.

So, to find the Keeper’s Altar, you need to go underground. And not through a hot tub.

You can find the Altar of the Keepers under the Statue of Sovereignty – a small island north of the typical Moosewood spawn. You will see the corresponding text while driving.

Once you reach the island, dock your boat at the shipwright and you should see two ladders leading into the mineshaft.

Speak with Cole to reach the Keeper's Altar in Fish.

Push through the short tunnel until you reach Cole. Talk to him and give him 400 CAD for the elevator ride. Simply interact with the controls inside to get to the bottom of the shaft.

You are now at the Keeper’s Altar. Once the sun sets, grab your Enchantment Relic from your inventory and use it to enchant your equipped staff.

What is the best spell in fish?

Of the 21 or so enchanting options, the best fish enchantments are generally those that benefit the most common rods.

Quality is a good charm for most rods. It is a versatile buff that boosts luck, durability, and lure speed. You can benefit from this in many ways.

Second in line is probably the Scrapper Enchant. It grants a 60% chance of not consuming bait. This can dramatically reduce the amount of money spent on ordinary baits or extend the use of expensive baits.

Combined with something like the Rapid Rod, it can really help you earn a stable income.
