Florida A&M Football looks to send off its seniors with a win in the season finale

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – No matter how a season goes, you want to win rivalry games. Although this season didn’t go the way Florida A&M had hoped, they beat Bethune-Cookman on Saturday, their fourth straight win in the Florida Classic, and no one can take that away from this team.

FAMU is far from finished, as the Rattlers host Alabama A&M in their season finale on Friday at Bragg, a game that may not mean much in terms of championships, but does mean finishing this year on a high note and closing out these seniors with a win say goodbye? It means everything.

Head coach James Colzie III said that is a top priority, but a win also sets the tone for the Rattlers’ future next season.

“We can build on that as we prepare for the offseason,” he said. “There are a lot of positives for this football team. Having a chance to finish with seven wins puts you in a higher ballpark when it comes to how you finish the season in the conference. There are many different things. We can start recruiting. These seven wins speak to the fact that the program is on a different level compared to some other teams in the conference.”

Kick-off is on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
