Former Jets coach Robert Saleh is looking for a new job

Robert Saleh will interview for the head coaching position of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced Tuesday.

Saleh, who was fired by the Jets following their Week 5 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, was the linebackers coach in Jacksonville from 2014-16.

Saleh was 20-36 in three-plus seasons with the Jets before his release and spent the last few months with the Packers.

The Jets fired Saleh when the team was 2-3. They promoted defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich to interim head coach and he finished the game with a 3-9 record. Meanwhile, the Jets’ defense, which was supposed to be the team’s best unit, suffered a noticeable decline following the promotion of its coordinator. At the time of Saleh’s firing, the Jets had the fifth-best points allowed per game in the NFL (17 ppg) and have since fallen to 21st (24 ppg).

The Jaguars will also add Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken, Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady, Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, Raiders offensive coordinator Patrick Graham, Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen, Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, and interview Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.
