Former NFL star warns Travis Hunter over controversy surrounding his fiancée Leanna Lenee

Travis Hunter was told he had only himself to blame for criticism of his relationship with fiancée Leanna Lenee.

Former NFL star and current broadcaster Nate Burleson weighed in on the controversy surrounding Lenee and the college football star, who got engaged in February after two years together.

As the Colorado player was presented with his award on stage, fans on social media criticized his fiancée for not rising from her seat to applaud him until head coach Deion Sanders asked her to stand.

It came a few days after her reaction to Hunter taking photos with female fans went viral.

Hunter has spoken out against the “haters” of her relationship, but Burleson told TMZ, “It’s everyone else’s business because this couple made it public.”

He added: “You can’t complain when people respond.” This is social media. You can’t say, “Mind your own business,” or “Keep your opinions to yourself,” when you’ve shared them with everyone.”

Social media users took aim at Lenee again after noticing that she has a dollar sign tattooed on her ring finger.

Hunter, who played both cornerback and wide receiver for Colorado, is considered the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Burleson sympathizes with the Buffalo star because he dated his now-wife Aloya while attending the University of Nevada. At the time, he suggested, many assumed she was dating him because of his NFL prospects.

“She was the trophy before I started chasing her in the NFL.” That could be the case with Travis’ relationship. “I don’t know,” Burleson said.
