Former patriots DC lands a new job with Green Bay Packers

While the employees of Mike Vrabel take shape, former patriotic assistants continue.

According to ESPN, the Green Bay Packers Demarcus Covington cease as a defensive line trainer. The last season was Covington’s first as Patriots defensive coordinator.

In this post -season, Covington interviewed the Cincinnati Bengals for their defensive coordinator. Now he goes to Green Bay to work with the packer’s defensive game, Jeff Hafley, who was previously head coach of Boston College.

Covington was hired by Bill Belichick as a coaching assistant in 2017. He was discovered during coaching in Eastern Illinois. Covington was promoted to LineBacker coach in 2019. Next year he was prompted to train defensive duels and held this role from 2020 to 2023.

Covington’s work as an assistant praised his players and quickly made him a defensive coordinator candidate. In 2023 he interviewed the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Chargers for their free defensive Playcaller jobs.

Covington also routinely stood in the list of future NFL head coaches of the NFL network.

“Definitely grateful, but for me it is really just about being here. It was no surprise when Jerod Mayo hired him as a defensive coordinator last season. The Patriots defense took the 22nd place in the NFL and total defense.

Vrabel has completely revised the defense employee from Patriots because no position assistants will return in 2025. Terrell Williams takes over the team’s new team.
