Fortnite update 33.10 release date, downtime, ballistic first person mode, LEGO Brick Life | Gaming | Entertainment

UPDATE: Fortnite developer Epic Games disabled matchmaking ahead of the release of update 33.10.

This means that you will no longer be able to enter a game unless you are already in a game. The servers will go completely offline at 9:00 a.m. GMT and will likely not be back online until 11:00 a.m. GMT and possibly even later due to the size of the update.

ORIGINAL: It’s been a busy few weeks for Fortnite. We’ve had the big Juice WRLD concert, the start of a new chapter, the return to old school with Fortnite OG, the release of the Doom 2099 skin and now a big new update.

Fortnite update 33.10 will be released on December 10th for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Android and Nintendo Switch.

The update will be accompanied by a server downtime starting at 9:00am GMT UK time.

Given the size of the update and the amount of new content offered, expect downtime until around midday.

The news was announced by Epic Games on X, along with a preview of what to expect.

“Sharpen your blades!” reads one epic tweet. “Downtime for v33.10 begins at 4 a.m. ET, with matchmaking ending shortly before.”

As you can see from the tweet above, matchmaking will be disabled around 8:30am UK time. So make sure you are already in a game beforehand.

In terms of what fans can expect, Update 33.10 is shaping up to be one of the biggest updates ever.

First up, a brand new first-person shooter mode will be released with 5v5 battles in ranked and unranked modes.

The new mode is titled “Fortnite Ballistic” and is described as a tactical game mode that emphasizes teamwork. It starts with the map “Skyline 10”.

Epic explains more: “Ballistic launches with the Skyline 10 map, a starting set of weapons and a limited number of items. Adjustments will be made post-launch based on player feedback, in addition to major updates such as new maps, weapons, and features.”

The game is a no-build mode that carries over all the presets from your locker. It supports existing skins and items, with the exception of pickaxes, contrails, instruments, vehicles and jam tracks.

With Christmas just around the corner, fans can also expect to learn more about this year’s Winterfest event, which will include new rewards and festive decorations.

Elsewhere, Fortnite is receiving a new text chat update that expands its availability to all islands.

We also take a look at the next wave of Fortnite crossovers, including a closer look at Hatsune Miku skins and items.

LEGO Fortnite is also getting a big update. Version 33.10, now known as LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, will introduce the Storm Chasers update, which tasks players with finding the Storm Chaser Village.

This is in addition to the release of LEGO Fortnite Brick Life, a new social role-playing experience set in an ever-evolving city.

Epic explains more: “Gather your friends (and meet new ones!) as you explore vibrant locations like sunset-drenched beaches and the mysterious Mourndale Academy alongside 31 other players.”

“Become the ultimate celebrity and meet up at restaurants, house parties and rooftop clubs.”

Daily Express will be back with the full list of new items and features when the update arrives on December 10th.

BUG FIXES

• Low resolution textures on Nintendo Switch

– We are looking for a solution for low resolution textures on Nintendo Switch.

• When used on a slope, sprites may slide down and prevent players from healing.

– Sprites may slide down or float when placed on a hill/slope, thereby losing their effect.

• Missing rewards in LEGO Pass (LEGO FORTNITE)

– Some players who have completed the LEGO Pass will see that they still need to receive certain rewards in the pass. The missing rewards will be granted in the next update.

• Vehicles may be stationary at the start of the race. (Rocket Race)

– During Ranked Races, players’ vehicles can remain stationary at the starting line while still navigating menus and interacting with camera controls.

• Painted style icons do not display the corresponding ranked reward style (ROCKET RACING).

– The icons for the I-Mod and Wellsian Wheels, Futurist Trail and Boost painted styles only show the default style for each item.

• Player 2, 3 or 4 cannot take control like Player 1 (FORTNITE FESTIVAL)

– If players attempt to take control in the lobby by holding down the Take Control button, the screen may go completely black and the button may not respond. This results in no settings or locker items being able to be changed.

• Jam track preview continues to play outside of music library (FORTNITE FESTIVAL)

– Players who select a jam track in the backstage area and then quickly close the music library may hear the preview loading too late and continue playing.
