Macon, Georgia (41nBC/WMGT) -The emergency agency of the Macon-Bibb County (EMA) gave away free NOAA weather radios in the town hall on Friday, March 14th to help the residents prepare for the storm awaited this weekend.

According to MacOn-Bibb EMA, the radio devices will provide immediate warnings from the national weather service and help people to stay up to date, even if the power fails.

The time is now the time to ensure that you have several ways to get warnings – and a weather radio is one of the best!Macon-Bibb EMA said in a Facebook post.

The giveaway, which is set from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., faces a forecast storm system that will be affected by mid -Georgia from Saturday to Sunday. Officials ask the residents to have several options for receiving warning messages, including a weather radio.
