Further changes inevitably come in Boston

Whatever happens from here in Boston is clear that the most important stakeholders of the Celtics have the best possible affinity for Brad Stevens.

All of them.

The President of Basketball Operations in Boston met with all four final groups of owners who looked at the family owner Wyc Grousbeck’s family for the purchase of the franchise. It is a development that reminded me of an interaction with the Celtics owner Steve Pagliuca last June -with champagne, sweat and beer that flies into all directions -when the man who became known as pags as pags as a replacement for the long -time General Manager, Danny Age, said “first thinking” by Boston.

“Brad is very similar,” said Pagliuca me. “You are basketball lifer. You played basketball in college. They trained. They are very analytical. Brad only impressed us like Danny, and we had a seamless transition.”

Now the next Celtics changeover is underway after Boston has announced a record agreement for the sale of the franchise to a group listed by William Chisholm. And everything happens when Boston surrounds an astronomical luxury tax bill for the 2025-26 season, which could take over the total price and tax obligations of the Celtics over the $ 500 million mark.
