GRAHAM COUNTY – The Graham County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Tucson murder suspect on Nov. 22 after the suspect was discovered by law enforcement.

According to a release from the Graham County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Luis H. Pina was seen riding a bicycle in the area of Robinson Ranch Road and 8th Street around 11 a.m. Pina was wanted for the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Tyler Gonzales on Oct. 26 in Tucson.

Law enforcement investigators found probable cause for Pina’s involvement in the murder, and the Pima County Superior Court issued an arrest warrant for both murder and robbery.

The Sheriff’s Office then received a tip from Tucson Police that Pina may be in the Safford/Thatcher area. When he was spotted on the bike, he was arrested on his warrant and a handgun was found in his possession. The Thatcher Police Department and the Arizona Department of Public Safety assisted in the arrest.

Pina was then booked into the Graham County Adult Detention Center on his arrest warrant, where he awaited extradition to Pima County. He was turned over to Pima County law enforcement on November 27th.
