Geno Smith connected to Seahawks and a surprising team

Geno Smith wants to expand the Seattle Seahawks. Of course he does it and he should. Every person who works for a company wants to know their future in this company is certain. The question is how much Smith from Seattle wants and how much seattle wants to pay it.

Smith is also 34 years old, although he was a backup for so long that he didn’t take as much punishment as most other quarterbacks of his age. Sure, he has scored many hits since he became Seattle QB1 in 2022 because the offensive line was so poor, but he had been on the bench for half a decades. The quarterback also has a great arm and throws accuracy.

If Seattle Smith does not want to get nearby in the long term, there is probably another team that is ready to take a chance of using him. However, there is no guarantee that Seattle should maintain a trade for Smith. Another team would give a lot back for the quarterback. There are several reasons for this, including the fact that Smith could hit the freelance agency after the 2025 season.

Could a trade with Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Geno Smith to be an option to the Cleveland Browns?

An NFL -Beat reporter has an interesting idea in a team that could be willing to give up a little to get Smith. Dan Labbe from Cleveland.com recently proposed the fan in Cleveland to 92.3 that the browns might want to have Smith. Theoretically, the scenario makes sense.

The Browns suspected that the start quarters of Deshaun Watson tore its Achilles at the end of the season, and he was able to miss all 2025. In addition, Watson has not been very good for Cleveland since Cleveland, since he went to the team in a trade with the Houston Texans in 2022. He has torn his Achilles before, so he is definitely a risk of injury for the rest of his career.

Cleveland could add Smith and be the starter for the team while Watson was sitting all year round. If Smith is good for it, the Browns could imagine signing it to an expansion. The publication of Watson in 2026 would still cost Cleveland a lot of money, but the number would drop from $ 99,799,000 in 2025 to $ 26,864,000. The teams have taken up a cap goal more than before (i.e. Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos in 2024).

What would the Seahawks get in return? The Browns choose the second overall in the NFL design of 2025, and Seattle will not be able to preserve this choice for Smith. Cleveland first selects in the second round (choose a total of 33) and that could be good enough together with a later choice. Seattle would then start Sam Howell at the quarterback next season.

General Manager John Schneider could also publish the selection of 18 (the choice that the Seahawks currently own in the first round) and choose 33 and try to get in the draft to possibly select Quarterbacks Shedur Sanders or CAM Ward. This is not likely (also the scenario proposed by Labbe), but everything is possible.
