Georgia football WR Nitro Tuggle says he’s not transferring

Georgia wide receiver Nitro Tuggle reportedly entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal this week. However, according to Tuggle’s social media accounts, he has no plans to leave the University of Georgia.

There is a long history in Georgia of players allegedly entering the portal only to return to Georgia. Most famously, offensive tackle Amarius Mims attended Florida State after entering the portal before returning to Georgia. Last season, Julian Humphrey and Daniel Harris announced their intention to enter the portal before returning to the Georgia roster, as did defensive tackle Christen Miller.

Georgia was very active in the transfer portal last season, with many players leaving the roster while simultaneously adding new players to their roster through the portal. It has become a huge phenomenon in college football that all football programs have to deal with each offseason. The transfer portal officially opens on December 9th and will remain open until December 28th. There will also be a window that opens in the spring.
