Germaine Pratt and Zac Taylor rate Bengals defense’s missed tackles: “Not that much.”

CINCINNATI – The Bengals missed double-digit tackles on Sunday, tied for the most points Pittsburgh has scored in a game this decade (44).

Germaine Pratt doesn’t seem to care too much about the offensive issues on defense, despite allowing 520 total yards.

“Not that much,” Pratt said of missed tackles. “I just think they got the ball out quick, quick play and quick coverage.”

There were plenty of those two things, coupled with terrible tackling form from almost everyone on that side of the ball. Pratt filled the stat sheet with a team-high 13 tackles, but the rest of his running mates made too many mistakes.

Cincinnati completely squandered a strong offense, scoring more than 30 points in a loss for the fourth time this season (all other NFL teams 79-3 this season combined). Zac Taylor commented on the coping issues.

“Yeah, I don’t question the effort,” Taylor said. “We just had to get the boys on the ground because there were great examples at times of guys hitting and making tackles. But here too the consistency overall wasn’t good enough.”

Cincinnati’s season is effectively over at 4-8 after another AFC loss.
