There are a lot of unnecessary products on sale for Black Friday, but good kitchen appliances don’t fall into this category – if an appliance helps us make better food at home, it’s a worthwhile purchase (and a great gift). For our reviews we tested lots of cooking accessories. We even shared our thoughts on some of the items we chose.
Thanks to Black Friday, the biggest shopping event of the year, many of Engadget’s trusted cooking appliances are currently on sale. Find the best deals on kitchen appliances, gadgets and more from retailers across the web.
The best Black Friday kitchen deals for 2024
Whether as a buying guide, test report or for our own use – we have tried out many gadgets that make cooking at home easier and more pleasant. We also recently put together a cooking gift guide with our favorite items. Our selection includes low- and high-tech appliances for indoor and outdoor kitchens. Currently, many of these harder-to-categorize Black Friday picks are on sale and listed here.
-
Mannkitchen Pepper Cannon for $160 ($40 off with Prime): Our own Sam Rutherford admitted that $200 is a ridiculous price for a pepper mill (and that Black Friday price of $160 isn’t much more reasonable). But in his article he describes how the pepper gun has become one of his favorite kitchen appliances in a way that, ridiculous or not, gives me a lot to think about.
-
Ninja Creami Ice Cream Maker for $160 ($40 off): This ice cream maker is one of our favorite kitchen appliances, super easy to use and makes endless frozen treats; You are really only limited by your imagination. This is an Amazon exclusive model that only contains one pint. The two-pint jar model is also on sale, but costs $40 more, making it cheaper to purchase additional containers separately. The two-pint model also comes directly from Ninja.
-
Meater Pro for $100 ($30 off): In our official review, Engadget’s Billy Steele praises the longer battery life and longer range of this updated smart thermometer from the Trager-owned company. It also offers greater heat resistance and is more durable overall. Also directly from Meater.
-
Ooni Karu 16 Outdoor Pizza Oven for $520 ($130 off): The Karu 16 is our favorite outdoor multi-fuel pizza oven, but it’s not cheap, so it’s best to buy it when it’s on sale. It has a large capacity that can handle large pizzas – and even cast iron cookware – using wood, charcoal or propane as fuel. In addition, the digital thermometer attached below helps you keep track of your cooking results.
-
Thermapen One for $76 ($32 off): We recommend this blazingly fast thermometer in our grilling guide because it gives you a readout in a second on its auto-rotating screen.
-
Stanley IceFlow Drinking Cup with Straw for $25 ($15 off): Our resident grill master Billy Steele recommends having a reliable source of ice-cold drinks while grilling. This is the variety he chose for our grilling equipment buying guide.
-
Anyday Microwave Cookware Starter Set for $70 ($30 off): Our resident microwave lover Cherlynn Low praises this plastic-free dish that she’s been using for two years now. The design allows for steaming and even baking food in the zapper box while also serving as an excellent food storage container.
The best Black Friday deals on coffee and tea supplies
Like most workplaces, Engadget runs on coffee – or at least those in charge do. Many of us have compiled our shared caffeinated experiences to create a gift guide for coffee lovers. Of course, some of us have a love for tea, so we’ve put together a tea gift guide too. Many of the picks from both lists are on sale right now for Black Friday.
The best Black Friday deals on sous vide machines
If you know someone who doesn’t have a sous vide machine, now might be a good time to improve that situation, as many of our favorite models are on sale. And if you don’t have one, here’s your chance to try out the water bath cooking method with little effort and high results. This is the best of what’s on sale for Black Friday, selected from our selection.
-
Anova Culinary Sous Vide 3.0 for $103 ($96 off): This is the best overall sous vide machine, according to testing for our buying guide, and this price beats July’s. We like the simple digital controls and the high flow rate, which maintains water temperature better. The companion app is also packed with recipes. It’s $120 at Best Buy and direct from Anova.
-
Anova Culinary Sous Vide Precision Cooker Nano for $97 ($52 off): We’ve been seeing this price for most of the last month, so it’s not exactly a new deal, but still a good discount on the machine that led Engadget’s Avery Ellis to call the sous vide stick the “Millennial Crockpot.” to call. She uses this a few times a week to make no-fuss meals that keep her going. The Nano model is a slightly smaller and cheaper version of the top model in our buying guide. Also direct from Anova for $99.
