Woman responds to accusations of racism after LAX tirade
A woman caught on camera in a racist tirade at LAX is defending herself, saying she was provoked and that she is not racist. She blamed the confrontation on a brain injury.
LOS ANGELES – The woman caught on video hurling a now-viral racist slur on a LAX shuttle bus is speaking out was provoked and also blames a brain injury for her actions.
The altercation, which took place on a United Airlines shuttle bus on November 24, involved the woman and Pervez Taufiq, an Indian-American wedding photographer who was on the bus with his wife and two children.
Taufiq said the woman sitting next to his son on the plane “harassed” him, asking him if he was Indian and continuing to hurl insults. He said the woman ordered his children to “shut up,” which aggravated the incident.
“Your family is from India, you have no respect, you have no rules, you think you can push, push, push, push anyone,” the woman said in the video. “This is what you think you are. You guys are fucking crazy.”
Racist slur by a woman against an Indian-American family
A woman racially abuses an Indian-American family at LAX. Only one other passenger spoke against the woman, while the rest of the shuttle bus on board remained silent.
A day after the video went viral, the woman spoke to FOX 11 about the altercation and defended her actions.

“She pushed me aside to get in front of me and the lady made him go back to the back of the line and he said to his wife, ‘Apparently they’re first class. “Obviously without class, and look at the way they do.” “are dressed…they’re white trash.” Aggressively, as we were loading the shuttle, he looks over at me and says, “Shut the fuck up, you white trash,” and then my husband intervenes. None of this can be seen in the video. And most people know me as a very friendly, calm person, but since the brain injury I can get restless very quickly,” the woman, who did not want to be identified, told FOX 11.
The woman accused Taufiq of behaving in a “racist” manner towards her after he recommended someone remove her from the bus for “rudeness and racism”.
She said she wasn’t racist and called it a series of escalations.
